Metal Injection Molding Produces Precise, Complex Components

For the last 25 years, the metal injection molding industry has grown at a steady rate. In the 70s it was predicted that the MIM process would grow at the rate of 18 to 22% per year. But because of some challenges with the materials, known as feedstocks in the industry, the initial growth was slow. Typically feedstocks were mixed by the individual companies involved in making metal injection molded components. The inconsistency in the mixing of the feed stocks led to part variation that was unacceptable in a wide variety of precision applications.

As more and more components were designed using the metal injection molding process, larger manufacturers became interested in developing feed stocks. Two major players were Allied Bendix and BASF. This enabled companies without metallurgists and large technical staffs to become involved in the process. The number of companies producing metal injection molded parts grew.

Then with the advancement in digital process controls, processing equipment became more exacting with greater process control. Now, plastic injection molding machines and furnaces are able to produce complex shapes with greater consistency.

So what types of components are good candidates for the metal injection molding process? The answer to that is it depends upon the configuration of the part. But in general terms, if a part can be plastic injection molded, it can be metal injection molded (as long as the part does not have any undercuts).

A wide variety of materials can be molded. Carbon, alloy and stainless steels are molded day in and day out with titanium catching up quick. Lots of development is being done with titanium for medical devices.

The industries using a lot of MIM components are firearms, medical device, dental equipment and electronics. Most of the parts are relatively small, less than 1 1/2" in length. But we have molded parts 7" long.

Even though most materials have 18% shrink, dimensions are very consistent. Tolerances can be held to plus or minus .001 for small critical dimensions.

Remember, tooling for this process is virtually the same as plastic injection molding. So small precise parts are good candidates for the MIM process. MIM tools cost the same as plastic molding - $15,000 - $50,000 and up. But if you are looking at components that get machined and you can eliminate machining costs, you can pay for tooling very quickly.

If you have an application that fits these general parameter, visit the website www.metalinjectionmolding.com for more information about the process.

Mold Remediation: Saving your House from Mold Menace

How severe is Mold

Mold is a type of fungi that covers a surface in the form of downy or furry coating. Neither plant nor animal, it is part of a group of living organisms that are very common and serve many beneficial purposes. Mold remediation and its importance are more felt than said. Household molds are sign of decay or dampness. They can grow on the walls, floors and ceilings of your home, on furniture and carpets as well as on your personal possessions. Sometimes household molds are referred to as mildew, although the term can also apply to molds found outdoors. Household molds are destructive in character. They originate from a damp place and soon spread to the other areas. The most common item on which molds grow very easily are foods. Foods left open or those not used for some time are sources for molds. Mold spreads by creating reproductive cells called spores which propagate through the air. It can enter your house by attaching to your skin, clothing, shoes, shopping bags and belongings, pets, through open doors, windows and through the heating, ventilation and air conditioning system of your house. Molds grow best in areas of your house that are not properly sunlit or ventilated.

Mold remediation - Your Solution to Mold Problem

Mold remediation involves moisture control program and a variety of mold cleanup methods to protect building materials and furnishings from mold growth. The purpose of mold remediation is to remove the mold to prevent damages of building materials and furnishings as well as human exposure. Clean up mold contamination is as important as killing of molds, because even dead mold is still allergenic, and some dead molds are potentially toxic. If there is too much of moisture in your house coming from a dirt basement or a leaking roof, then your house can be infested with moisture all the year. It requires serious mold remediation to avoid long term and permanent mold problem. If growth of mold is confined to specific part of your house then that part of the house require more sunlight and ventilation. For such problems you need a mold remediation program emphasizing on ventilation. If your home is too air-tight, it will be affected by molds in the warmer months as humidity reaches high levels inside the house and moisture is trapped. In drafty homes mold problems occur more frequently during cold, when warm air escapes from the living area into unconditioned space, and gets condensed. If the house is artificially humidified during the winter it will create favorable conditions for mold. In such cases your house will need yearly mold remediation. If neglected, the temporary mold problem will give rise to serious long term problems.

Selecting the Right Mold Remediation

A wide variety of mold remediation methods are available for mold cleanup and remediation of damages to building materials and furnishings. However, the specific method(s) used will depend on the type of material affected. If disinfectants or biocides are used for killing molds you must ventilate the area to allow fresh air to enter. Biocides are toxic to mold as well as to humans. The use of a biocide, such as chlorine bleach, is not recommended as a routine practice during mold remediation. Fungicides such as hexachlorobenzene, organomercurials, pentachlorophenol, phthalimides, and dithiocarbamates are used for outdoor purposes. Mold remediation using these materials is not recommended for indoor mold killing. You can use many chemicals and other manual mold remediation methods yourself. If you hire a professional agency for mold remediation, and they apply biocides, make sure they are properly licensed. Mold remediation is applied for protecting homes and humans from harmful effects of molds. However, if not handled properly, it may create other problems from the chemicals. How Is Mold Like Aids?

Dont laugh. Both get a lot of coverage in the press. Mold isnt a politically sensitive issue but there are a lot of similarities.

Dont laugh. Both get a lot of coverage in the press. Mold isnt a politically sensitive issue but there are a lot of similarities.

1. Both get into your system without being felt.
If you are living, working or studying in a moldy environment there will be mold spores floating in the air. Every time you breathe, these mold spores move through your nose, sinuses and into your lungs. Each of these spots is moist and warm. Ideal environments for mold spores to set up housekeeping. From these locations the spores release mycotoxins (mold poisons) that get into the blood stream and spread through the body.

2. Both attack your immune system so you cant fight of normal, everyday diseases. Mold kills white blood cells. These are the bodys primary defense against invading bacteria and viruses.

3. Both kill indirectly. Yes I said kill.
Cancer is probably the leading cause of death with an AIDS patient. The bodys defenses are so weak that even simple diseases become life threatening. Mold releases poisons that are known to cause cancer. Chemicals like the Aflotoxins and Ochratoxins were written about 30 years ago. This is OLD science. These are found in most of the household molds we run into in our investigations. The most common death from mold is a condition called a T-cell lymphoma. http://www.themoldlab.com/DrDennis.pdf

Sometimes mold will get into the brain and cause death directly, but this isnt very common.

Mold also can lead to Heart Attacks. Many of the mold toxins attack the connective tissue in the vascular system, including the heart. Again this is OLD science. Nothing new or dramatic.

4. Both can be prevented.
The easiest way to prevent mold induced diseases is to Get rid of the Mold. This is fairly easy as long as you do it by natural means. If you use toxic chemicals to kill mold you are just replacing one problem for another. Chemicals called borates are commonly used to kill mold. Most of the time they are used incorrectly and dont work. But for about 15% of the population, the only cure for the borate reactions is to move out of your house forever. We have seen this happen on many occasions.

But how are they DIFFERENT? AIDS cant really be cured. Mold can.

There are botanical treatments that will remove the mold from your body. It involves a few daily nose sprays.

So you see, mold and AIDS are not as far apart as you would think. Both can kill and both work without you knowing it.For 30 years, Dr Graham has been helping people treat andprevent disease by showing them how to live in a clean environment.http://www.tennesseemold.com

Hows the practicing going? Are you spending time each day to practice RET, EFT and affirmations? When you make yourself a priority, then everything else falls into place.

When we lose our connection to God, to ourselves, then we get off track. The answer is very simple! Spend time with yourself each day and focus on you.

Do you make excuses why you cant spend time with yourself? Do you come up with all sorts of reasons why you couldnt do it?

Take some time right now and write down the excuses you generally use when you dont focus on you? Example: I couldnt exercise because I had to do the laundry. Just name
everything you use as an excuse. If you have weight issues, I guarantee the list will be long.

God created you as the most awesome person in the Universe and spending time with yourself would please Him. He wants you to feel that joy and love of yourself. One way to spend time with yourself is being thankful.

I thought it would be appropriate to take some time to be grateful. Expressing gratitude is important to adopt as a daily practice. When youre thankful for all youve received, it opens your heart up to attract great things. You
look at everything in such a different way and realize all that you have is given to you by God. How powerful is this?

A great daily practice is seeing the Divinity in all things and this is what I would like you to do right now. Take a look around you in the room youre in and notice everything. Now, were going to be thankful for all that you see.

I am grateful for the walls
I am grateful for the paint
I am grateful for the computer
I am grateful for the windows
I am grateful for the doors
I am grateful for the lights

You get the picture. See how many things you can say or write down that youre grateful for in just that room alone. Youll feel a sense of calm and wont be stressed.

You can expand on this to include your body. Remember to act as if it is already happening.

I am grateful for my thin body
I am grateful that food nourishes me
I am grateful I no longer have cravings

I would like to express my gratitude to you and how much I appreciate you being a part of my life. I know your weight has been (Im using past tense here) an issue, but remember I will be the light that helps you know you have everything within you now to overcome this. Im destined to help you uncover those layers youre using as protection.

The big lesson today is focus on you. There is no bigger priority than you. You deserve it!

Love and hugs,
