Finishing Touches To Home Renovations Using Easy Crown Moldings

Home renovations can be tedious, time consuming and expensive. By the time you purchase all the necessary tools, and materials to complete your job the mountain of work ahead can be quite daunting. If you have worked hard on fixing up your home then having it look as professional as possible is a must, and the finishing touches are as important as every other part of the project. When selecting materials to finish a room it is important to choose products that are easy to use (if you are a first time/amateur renovator), that look nice and really showcase all the trouble you went to. Mouldings are one such detail that can make or break a project you have undertaken, and two choices available are easy crown mouldings, and plastic injection mouldings.

Easy Crown Mouldings: simple to use, but do they look professional?

So you have done the drywall, plastered, painted and are ready for the finishing accents to really bring the project to a close. Easy crown mouldings; the name suggests the level of usability required to install. With Easy crown mouldings there is no need for mitre saws or finishing nails to properly measure and affix your crown mouldings to the upper portion of your wall. To properly trim this specific type of moulding you simply require the knowledge of: how to use a pair of scissors. This removes the hassle of complicated angle measurements to properly line up corners. Sounds simple enough; however, how do they measure up to the old fashioned way of using tools and angle measurements?

According to some renovations experts; though, they are easy to use they leave you in the lurch quality wise. Because the trimming is done with scissors accuracy on trimming is always an issue, and rarely do seams meet properly (it is said that seams in easy crown mouldings can be taped over though). Is this how you want to finish a project that you have sweated hours over? With Easy Crown Mouldings there are also issues of installation on the wall. Yes they are easy to use for all levels of expertise. To stick these mouldings to the wall, you must simply remove the layer of tape on the back (revealing a layer of tacky adhesive) and firmly press into place in the desired location. How reliable is the adhesive? Well on the aforementioned website where tests have been performed... after very little time the glue gave out and the Easy Crown Mouldings fell down to the floor which brings up 2 new problems: how do you firmly re-attach them to the wall? And how to repair the tears in the paint left behind after the adhesive has torn it off the wall.

Obviously like other products you get what you pay for, and cheap and fast generally results in hassles, and more work. There are others that state that these so called "Easy Crown Mouldings" are not as easy to install as the name states.

Plastic injection mouldings: more complicated, and more expensive

Plastic injection mouldings are probably the exact opposite of the Easy Crown Moulding. The creation of Plastic injection mouldings is not one for an amateur home renovator unless they specifically want to learn how to make them as the process is time consuming and tedious. Simple table top machines and moulds can be made to form your mouldings; however, the necessary tools list is far more expensive than that of ordinary wooden mouldings. Welders and drill presses are two of the said required machines to create your own, not to mention the plastic pellets which must be purchased to melt and form your mouldings.

For those who aren't interested in learning the process behind making your own plastic injection mouldings, using this type of finishing product is not realistic as tracking them down through your local home renovations store will be quite complicated. If you are dead set on using them tracking them down can be daunting.

RV Tips for Keeping Your RV Mold and Mildew Free

For RV'ers, nothing is more enchanting than a long road trip with many sights to see along the way. However, nothing can be more frustrating than having problems with your vehicle while on the road trying to have fun. Especially if those problems involve water leaking into your RV while you are out touring a rainy region or flooding from a leaky toilet or sink. Although mold can form while you out on the road, most mold and mildew formation occurs during those months when it is in storage. Under a tarp or stored in a warm, humid storage facility, your RV could become an incubator for mold and mildew. Once you've got it, it can be tricky to learn how to clean up mold properly - the best method is prevention. To follow are 3 tips for preventing mold and mildew from forming in your RV.

Check Your Plumbing and Ventilation

Every time you leave for one of your RV adventures, check or hire someone to check your toilet valves, lines, and your RV toilet stop to ensure it is all working correctly. Make sure your bathroom is vented properly because poor ventilation in small spaces with ample water is a perfect place for mold to grow. Don't forget to have someone look at the plumbing under your sinks and your waiste disposal system. The last thing you need is a leaky toilet or sink supply line soaking your carpet while you're blissfully charging down the road to that next destination.

Keep Tabs on Your Roof and Ceiling

Make sure your roof is water tight by inspecting the caulking, moulding and seams. Examine your roof carefully at least twice a year for exposed fasteners, cracked seams, UV deterioration, mold and mildew, water spots on the ceiling. One clear indicator for RV roof deterioration is a chalky white substance left in your driveway when you wash your RV. If you are a "do-it-yourself-er" (DIY-er), you could start by spraying water and trying to determine the source of the leak, replacing leaky roof vents, removing old caulking and replacing it with new, and repairing damaged seams. If your roof is in need of repair and you are not a DIY-er you may want to try a liquid roof system with no caulk, seams, or leaks.

Prevent Mold from Forming During Storage

Store your travel vehicle under a cover that will protect it from the elements while allowing it to breathe, while venting inside water vapor to prevent mold, mildew from forming. One can find a whole host of RV covers that are triple - layered to provide ample UV protection, air vents to reduce wind lofting and inside moisture for around $300.00 with a 3-year warranty. Though the best method is prevention, if you do discover you have mold, you need to think about the health implications. Make sure it is cleaned up properly, and, that you get an air cleaner or purifier to keep yourself and your loved ones from breathing in the spores.

Check for Hidden Mold and Clean it Up

Sometimes mold clean up requires some good detective work where you will have to learn to "follow your nose". Follow the smell and feel around for dampness. Even when mold is not visible on carpets and walls it may be growing on carpet padding or inside walls. Inspect, or have inspected, your air conditioning system ducts for mold, dampness. Once mold spores form in a heating or AC system, they will be spread around the entire space. This could cause some major health problems. For more on how to locate mold and remove it, read this >>

How Is Mold Like Aids?

Dont laugh. Both get a lot of coverage in the press. Mold isnt a politically sensitive issue but there are a lot of similarities.

Dont laugh. Both get a lot of coverage in the press. Mold isnt a politically sensitive issue but there are a lot of similarities.

1. Both get into your system without being felt.
If you are living, working or studying in a moldy environment there will be mold spores floating in the air. Every time you breathe, these mold spores move through your nose, sinuses and into your lungs. Each of these spots is moist and warm. Ideal environments for mold spores to set up housekeeping. From these locations the spores release mycotoxins (mold poisons) that get into the blood stream and spread through the body.

2. Both attack your immune system so you cant fight of normal, everyday diseases. Mold kills white blood cells. These are the bodys primary defense against invading bacteria and viruses.

3. Both kill indirectly. Yes I said kill.
Cancer is probably the leading cause of death with an AIDS patient. The bodys defenses are so weak that even simple diseases become life threatening. Mold releases poisons that are known to cause cancer. Chemicals like the Aflotoxins and Ochratoxins were written about 30 years ago. This is OLD science. These are found in most of the household molds we run into in our investigations. The most common death from mold is a condition called a T-cell lymphoma. http://www.themoldlab.com/DrDennis.pdf

Sometimes mold will get into the brain and cause death directly, but this isnt very common.

Mold also can lead to Heart Attacks. Many of the mold toxins attack the connective tissue in the vascular system, including the heart. Again this is OLD science. Nothing new or dramatic.

4. Both can be prevented.
The easiest way to prevent mold induced diseases is to Get rid of the Mold. This is fairly easy as long as you do it by natural means. If you use toxic chemicals to kill mold you are just replacing one problem for another. Chemicals called borates are commonly used to kill mold. Most of the time they are used incorrectly and dont work. But for about 15% of the population, the only cure for the borate reactions is to move out of your house forever. We have seen this happen on many occasions.

But how are they DIFFERENT? AIDS cant really be cured. Mold can.

There are botanical treatments that will remove the mold from your body. It involves a few daily nose sprays.

So you see, mold and AIDS are not as far apart as you would think. Both can kill and both work without you knowing it.For 30 years, Dr Graham has been helping people treat andprevent disease by showing them how to live in a clean environment.http://www.tennesseemold.com

Hows the practicing going? Are you spending time each day to practice RET, EFT and affirmations? When you make yourself a priority, then everything else falls into place.

When we lose our connection to God, to ourselves, then we get off track. The answer is very simple! Spend time with yourself each day and focus on you.

Do you make excuses why you cant spend time with yourself? Do you come up with all sorts of reasons why you couldnt do it?

Take some time right now and write down the excuses you generally use when you dont focus on you? Example: I couldnt exercise because I had to do the laundry. Just name
everything you use as an excuse. If you have weight issues, I guarantee the list will be long.

God created you as the most awesome person in the Universe and spending time with yourself would please Him. He wants you to feel that joy and love of yourself. One way to spend time with yourself is being thankful.

I thought it would be appropriate to take some time to be grateful. Expressing gratitude is important to adopt as a daily practice. When youre thankful for all youve received, it opens your heart up to attract great things. You
look at everything in such a different way and realize all that you have is given to you by God. How powerful is this?

A great daily practice is seeing the Divinity in all things and this is what I would like you to do right now. Take a look around you in the room youre in and notice everything. Now, were going to be thankful for all that you see.

I am grateful for the walls
I am grateful for the paint
I am grateful for the computer
I am grateful for the windows
I am grateful for the doors
I am grateful for the lights

You get the picture. See how many things you can say or write down that youre grateful for in just that room alone. Youll feel a sense of calm and wont be stressed.

You can expand on this to include your body. Remember to act as if it is already happening.

I am grateful for my thin body
I am grateful that food nourishes me
I am grateful I no longer have cravings

I would like to express my gratitude to you and how much I appreciate you being a part of my life. I know your weight has been (Im using past tense here) an issue, but remember I will be the light that helps you know you have everything within you now to overcome this. Im destined to help you uncover those layers youre using as protection.

The big lesson today is focus on you. There is no bigger priority than you. You deserve it!

Love and hugs,
